GovernTeams Agent

Bring Fronterio to where your team already works

The Teams Agent puts Fronterio's AI Consultant inside Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Run assessments, register agents, ask compliance questions, and ship reports through @-mentions or natural conversation. Manifest v1.21 means one bot backend serves both Teams and the Copilot agent store — same install, two surfaces.

Why a Teams agent

Most enterprise AI failures happen because the platform you're trying to drive adoption with isn't where your team works. They use Teams. They use Copilot. They use Outlook. The last thing they want is yet another browser tab. The Fronterio Teams Agent solves this by bringing the AI Consultant + governance workflows directly into Microsoft Teams as a chat bot.

From Teams, your team can ask any question the AI Consultant would normally answer in the dashboard — 'how do we register a new agent?', 'what's the EU AI Act risk classification for our new chatbot?', 'draft a Transparency Notice for our customer support agent'. The bot answers in-context, with the same evidence-grounded responses, the same citations to your audit log, the same partner-consultant escalation cards.

Beyond chat, the bot supports proactive notifications. When an Article 73 incident timer hits 48 hours, the bot DMs the responsible person. When a high-risk agent gets approved, the bot announces in the governance channel. When a quarterly Post-Market Monitoring report is ready, the bot offers it as a download. The platform comes to your team instead of your team having to remember to come to the platform.

The same bot backend now ships as a Microsoft 365 Copilot custom engine agent. Manifest v1.21 with `copilotAgents.customEngineAgents` lets users discover Fronterio inside Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat alongside their other agents. Same install, two surfaces — and AppSource submission unlocks the Custom Engine Agent badge in the Copilot agent store.

Proactive messaging works through the `teams_conversation_references` table. When a user installs the bot the conversation reference is stored with their Microsoft tenant ID and conversation token. The platform can then push messages to that user's Teams chat from any Fronterio backend event — incident timers, approval workflows, weekly digests.

Setup is admin-only and dashboard-driven (no terminals). The runbook in docs/ops/fronterio-everywhere-activation.md § 1-2 walks through Azure AD app registration, manifest sideload, AppSource submission, and Copilot Chat enablement — each step a Microsoft admin clicks through with copy-paste-ready values.

One install. Two surfaces. Zero context switching.

Browser-only Fronterio vs Teams Agent

Without the Teams Agent

  • Team has to remember to open the Fronterio dashboard daily
  • AI Consultant only available when someone proactively visits the chat drawer
  • Article 73 incident timers live in the dashboard — easy to miss
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot users never discover Fronterio's AI agents

With the Teams Agent

  • Fronterio comes to Teams — every conversation can @-mention the bot
  • AI Consultant answers compliance questions in DMs, channels, and threads
  • Proactive Article 73 alerts DM the responsible person on the t-48h boundary
  • Discovered in M365 Copilot Chat agent store via manifest v1.21

Teams Agent capabilities

Conversational AI Consultant

Same evidence-grounded consultant that powers the dashboard drawer, available in Teams DMs, group chats, and channels via @mentions.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Custom Engine Agent

Manifest v1.21 with copilotAgents.customEngineAgents — Fronterio is discoverable inside Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat alongside the user's other agents.

Proactive Article 73 alerts

Hourly cron checks incident timers. When t-48h hits, the bot DMs the responsible person — no one misses the regulatory deadline.

Approval announcements

When a high-risk agent gets approved, the bot announces in your governance channel with a link to the technical documentation.

Weekly digest delivery

Friday morning the bot DMs each user a personalised weekly digest — what changed in their org, what they should look at, what's overdue.

Per-tenant rate limiting

JWT-validated against Bot Framework OpenID keys, 60/min/tenant+user. Reverse-side egress through safeFetch SSRF protection.

Conversation reference store

Install once, the conversation reference persists. Any backend event can push to that user's Teams chat — incident timers, ROI snapshots, board-pack notifications.

Sideload + AppSource path

Sideload validates the integration with one tenant, then AppSource submission unlocks public discovery in the Teams + M365 Copilot stores.

How to activate

1

Register the Azure AD app

Microsoft 365 admin creates the multi-tenant Azure AD app for the bot. Configure redirect URIs and admin-consent permissions per the runbook.

2

Sideload the manifest

Upload the Teams manifest (v1.21) to your tenant via Teams Admin Center. The bot is installable in any team or chat.

3

Verify the bot in Teams

Add the bot in a test channel, confirm @-mentions reach Fronterio, confirm the conversation reference is stored after first install.

4

Enable Copilot Custom Engine Agent

The same manifest exposes Fronterio in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Validate via the Copilot Agent Builder, then submit to AppSource for store discovery.

5

Push proactive messages

Configure incident timer crons and weekly-digest delivery. The platform now reaches your team in Teams without them having to log into Fronterio.

Adoption is not about how good the platform is. It's about how often your team encounters it. Teams Agent puts Fronterio in the same surface they live in.

Available in Pro and Enterprise

Sideload validates first, AppSource unlocks public discovery (4-6 week review).
