How to build your 12-month AI strategy in Fronterio
A five-primitive workflow: from Strategy Canvas to board pack in one leadership cycle
Why most AI strategies die in the PDF
A six-figure consulting engagement leaves you with a slide deck. Six weeks later it’s stale. Six months later nobody can find it. The strategy never made it out of the readout meeting because there was no living artifact — nothing editable, nothing cascaded into execution, nothing the board could rely on quarter after quarter.
Fronterio’s strategy layer is the opposite pattern. Five connected primitives — each AI-drafted, each editable, each reading the one before it — replace the consulting deliverable with a system your exec team actually uses.
The 5 primitives of the strategy layer
- Strategy Canvas — A Playing-to-Win cascade drafted by the AI from your assessment, archetype, and company research. Ambition, Where-to-Play, Top 3 Moves, 90-Day Commitments. Editable, ratified, versioned. The root of the tree.
- Strategic Roadmap — A 12-month quarter-by-quarter plan generated from the ratified canvas. Themes, initiatives, owners, KPIs, dependencies. Cascade one click into tasks and use-cases.
- Async Workshops — Five opinionated exec workshop templates (Assessment Debrief, Use-Case Prioritisation, Archetype Alignment, Roadmap Build, Board Pre-Read). Async sticky capture + AI clustering + AI-written commitments doc. No two-hour calendar blocks.
- Strategic OKR Cascade — AI-drafted objectives from the canvas cascading to department and initiative-level key results. the AI refreshes current values weekly from business metrics.
- Executive Board Pack — A one-scroll quarterly view with maturity vs industry benchmark, top 3 strategic moves, risk heatmap, 90-day ask from CEO to board, and an AI-written 600-word narrative. Share with external board members via tokenised link.
The 12-month workflow
Here is what the leadership cycle looks like end-to-end:
- Week 1 — Draft the Canvas. Complete the AI Readiness Assessment (if not already done). Open
/dashboard/design/strategy. Click generate — the AI returns a four-section draft in under 15 seconds, pre-filled from assessment scores, archetype, and company research. - Week 2 — Ratify with your exec team. Share the draft for inline edits and comments. When aligned, ratify. The sign-off ledger records each participant’s name, role, and timestamp. The canvas moves from draft to ratified v1.
- Week 3 — Generate the Roadmap + OKRs. From the ratified canvas, generate the 12-month roadmap and draft OKRs in parallel. Cascade roadmap initiatives into tasks; cascade company OKRs to department and initiative level.
- Month 1 onwards — Execute + measure. Your team executes against tasks and use-cases. Key results refresh weekly from business metrics. The Canvas stays editable — when an underlying input changes (e.g. governance score jumps 12 points), the platform surfaces a refresh suggestion.
- Quarterly — Board Pack. Open
/dashboard/design/board. the AI writes the 600-word quarterly narrative bound to current metrics. Share with the board in-app (owner) or via external token. - Quarterly — Async Workshops. Use the Board Pre-Read workshop template to distil the quarter into the 1-pager the CEO takes into the room. Participants contribute async over 2–3 days; the AI writes the commitments doc at close.
What makes this different
- Everything is AI-drafted, not AI-assisted. You don’t start from a blank canvas. the AI produces the first cut; your team edits the bits that need your judgment.
- The primitives read each other. Roadmap reads Canvas. OKRs read Canvas and Roadmap. Board Pack reads everything plus live metrics. Update the Canvas, everything downstream knows.
- One source of truth, many artifacts. No more reconciling the strategy deck with the quarterly review with the OKR tracker with the board pack. One tree, five views.
- Built for deployers, not consultants. The canvas is your artifact, not a deliverable. No licence fees. No billable hours. No recycled templates from other clients.
